Using Soap And Water Is Still Needed As An Additional Method For Cleaning
A CPAP Cleaning Machine may come in various sizes, shapes and use different mediums. But, all of these are designed to remove bacteria and germ. They are not made to clean your CPAP machine from dirt and grime. As such, you will need to use soap and water to make sure there are no issues located on the surface of the mask and hose. Keep in mind that this method isn’t effective against bacteria so we recommend you use it as an additional process.
Full-Size Devices For CPAP Cleaning
There are many variations out there, but there are 3 main categories. These are determined by the agent or medium a machine will use to clean the CPAP machine. You can see ozone, UV light, and chemicals. Below are the three best examples of each category so you can get a better idea about these gadgets.
PrimeClean uses ozone and it has been known as the most effective and the most appealing gadget of them all. Thanks to ozone it is 99.9% effective and it can kill all the bacteria, germs and so much more. It even kills the COVID19 virus so you can imagine how effective it is.
All you have to do is to place the mask and the hose (anything else you want to sanitize) in the included bag and connect PrimeClean. Turn it on and wait 30 minutes. Wait additional 35 minutes for the ozone to be converted back to oxygen and you are done. PrimeClean is 100% safe and works for cleaning literally anything you like.
This is another ozone cleaner. It is effective but user shave reported that a bad odor is present after the cleaning process. This isn’t something you can expect with PrimeClean or other ozone cleaners so we believe that it is a particular downside of this unit. It is small as well and suitable for traveling and similar applications.
3. Sani Bot
Sani Bot uses a tablet that is added to the tap water. The hose and the mask are submerged into the canister and you need to wait for half an hour. After that, the hose and the mask will be clean.
This option looks appealing, but it does create a moisture environment on the mask and the hose which is ideal for bacteria. Also, some users don’t like using chemicals and similar products for cleaning CPAP equipment. This isn’t a portable and suitable for traveling devices.
