Important connections between CPAP therapy and COVID19
There are a lot of additional questions that deserve to beans were right here. One of them is a myth in which the CPAP machine can protect you from the COVID19 virus. This is a simple myth and there are no alot of actual links between the two. First of all, a CPAP machine is designed for sleep apnea and it doesn’t have a direct link to the virus in question.Theoretically, it can decrease the odds of catching the virus but they are irrelevant.
Another myth is that the CPAP machine can be used as a ventilator (a device that is used to treat COVID19 virus patients with severe symptoms). Although the two work in a similar way, a ventilator is a more complex machine made for more specific problems.
There has been some research suggesting that CPAP machines can be used for minor COVID19 symptoms, but further research is still needed.
Keep in mind that you are not at a higher risk of catching the virus if you use the CPAP machine. The two are not linked closely and there are no direct links that suggest that patients at a risk. Don’t forget that there is a second part of the story. If you have COVID19 you still have to use CPAP therapy. The virus won’t eliminate your sleep apnea and you will have to continue using it.If you notice some symptoms of COVID19, make sure to contact your healthcare provider and make sure to follow his directions closely.
Last but not least, if you cannot find distilled water during the pandemic, you can use tap water. Distilled water contains no minerals and this is important due to the fact it decreases the buildup of the mineral deposits on the CPAP machine and the humidifier. If you cannot find the distilled water, use ordinary tap water. Just make sure to clean the humidifier more often and spend more time using it to clean all the minerals and other deposits.
